"Skills International" reached a milestone when they were engaged by the Work Bank funded IRQUE (Improving Relevance and Quality of Undergraduate Education) Project to carry out a survey, evaluation, and analysis of the literacy levels of the 12 Public Universities in Sri Lanka in English and Information Technology. This was first time ever that such an exercise was carried out to benchmark the Universities in order to ascertain the degree of upgrading required by each University in terms of Trainer Resources and Infrastructure. World Bank's assistance to the Universities through the IRQUE Program was contingent upon this benchmarking. Skills have now been engaged by the Ministry of Education to establish a second survey to investigate the impact made by the upgrading of infrastructure & human resources. The Ministry has also tasked Skills to establish similar benchmarks for specific programs selected for direct assistance.
